Foster Homes for Dependent Children

Provides care for children while their custodial parent seeks in-patient substance abuse, mental health, or medical treatment. The parent retains full parental rights and responsibilities. The child receives room and board, a physical exam and ongoing medical care, access to counseling, recreation and scheduled visits with the parent. The child may stay for up to 60 days, and a family may utilize Project Keepsafe no more than twice a year.

Provides temporary foster care for children whose parent or legal guardian is unable to provide care due to incarceration, history of incarceration or participation in a substance use disorder treatment program. Foster home placement is requested by the parent or legal guardian and does not require that the child be a ward of the state.
